The skirt from the tutorial looked a little plain, so I made this flower to go on it. But I didn't finish the edges and now it's totally fraying. Oh well. I'm learning as I go.
Collars get so dirty on Brynlee, so I wanted to remove the collar from this dress. I took it off and did a few other changes. The before picture is above. (Maybe you like the before picture better! But don't tell me, if that's the case! Ha ha).
The After Picture. I might add a little white layer poking out from the bottom, but I'm not sure.
Things were going great until I got to this part! I ended up having to take off the zipper and put it back together. Yikes. But it actually looks great now and I learned a lot, which is easy to say because I knew so little to begin with.
I didn't know how to sew these flowers, so I just made it up. It looks a little funny in places, but hopefully I'll figure it out in the next ones.
I got this dress at Target for $3.00 because it had weird long sleeves. All I had to do was cut the sleeves off, make a tunnel (I don't know my sewing terms) for the elastic, thread the elastic and sew it up. Easy Peasy. It looks so cute on Bryn, not so cute in the picture.
Most evenings are spent either sewing or painting/collaging...which you can check out on my art blog. (Why do I even separate the two blogs? I guess it's so the many, many big art collectors looking at my art blog can see my work without seeing pictures of my daughter bathing.)
