Ten Months

Oh my goodness, ten months is such a fun stage. Mya is the cutest little chub and we just love her every day! I think Mya has been a little late with her mobility milestones, but she finally figured out crawling forwards this week. It's been a fun week for her to be able to get around and get to things that are out of reach.....like Bryn's block towers and other things she shouldn't be touching. Why was I so eager for her to start crawling??
She got her top tooth this month and it looks like there's a second top tooth that's about to come through. She's been putting her little teeth to good use, trying lots of new table foods this month. Her favorite foods are homemade breads and rolls, little bits of bananas, strawberries, pears, and cooked vegetables. She still nurses at 7 am, noon, 4 pm, and 7 pm, but I don't know how much longer we'll keep this whole nursing thing going. I'd like to make it to a year like Brynlee, but Mya's growing mobility and curiosity has turned nursing into a bit of a circus. We'll see how much longer we'll last! She's still a great sleeper, usually going from 7:30 pm to 6:30 or 7 am. And then she naps for 2-3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
When Mya gets excited about something she raises her chubby little arms in the air and waves her hands. She just started doing it a few weeks ago and it's so cute. She does it especially at meal time when she's eating something she likes. After each bite throws her arms up and waves her little hands frantically, her equivalent of saying "More! More! More!"
Mya is getting more curious, but she's definitely seems more mellow and shy than Bryn was. The contrast has been so funny to watch. Bryn was always confident, silly, and high-energy. She was always a dare-devil, bumping around the room, falling over or getting hurt, but just brushing it off without a care. Mya will get up the courage to finally explore something, but if she bumps into anything or drops what she's holding then she curls her lip and gets the saddest little look on her face. She's definitely more sensitive and timid than Bryn, but I love her sweet, cuddly self!
Bryn saw me taking pictures of Mya and immediately ran upstairs and came down in a matching outfit a matching 10-month sign she had quickly made. This girl cracks me up!
This is Bryn and Mya doing their "secret sisters handshake". Bryn made it up and it's a "triple bust sparkle". They do a bust, a sparkle of the fingers, and then repeat it three times. Mya thinks it's hilarious.
(P.S. I'm really not that into matching outfits, but Bryn's whole world revolves around matching Mya. Everyday she picks out their outfits in the morning and their pajamas at night. Sometimes I put my foot down, but most of the time I just shrug my shoulders and let Bryn do her thing).

(Oh boy.....this is not Bryn's best picture. Ha ha! But i guess it's a little late for re-takes).
