After talking to my friend
Kristin about the fun things she used to do with her young kids, I've been trying to do more fun things with Bryn. She is a former teacher and she basically made daily lesson plans with books to read and fun things to do. My friends
Jen and
Kristy do the same thing everyday and it's awesome! So, in an attempt to step up my game, I made a list of my favorite children's books, and then Bryn and I checked out the first ten books today at the library, and had an awesome afternoon reading through them. So many classics! Here is Bryn's favorite of the day:
I love this book! Love the cute little illustrations and even the colors of the pictures. Cute story, cute dialogue. Bryn was laughing so hard when the peddler was getting mad at the monkeys. We re-read those pages over and over.
And then we stacked Bryn's "caps" upon her head and it was heaven, for a hat-lover like her!

I LOVE this book too.
I just caught up on your blog. The kitchen set is so so cute! I want to play with it! Great job on that one you guys.
We love this book. Merrick has it memorized. Sounds fun!
That happens to be my favorite book from my childhood. I'm going to go home and steal it from my mom during Christmas. Don't tell.
I LOVE THAT BOOK! I'd totally forgotten about it too. I'm gonna have to check that one out for little Beckam!
Hey Laura, it's Ambra (Shurtleff). I can't even remember who told me about your blog, but I've been blog stalking for a couple months! I wanted to tell you about a "curriculum" I am using with my 2 1/2 year old. It's called Before Five in a Row and it's great! It takes you through classic children's books and gives you ideas and activities for each one. I also find a bunch of little projects on homeschoolshare.com to go along with each book. Caps for Sale is actually one of the books and we LOVE it! Check out my blog for more details. I actually have a post up right now about our last week of activities. I have found it to be much more rewarding having little planned activities to do with my toddler rather than just playing all day with the same old toys.
Oh, and by the way...you are so talented and crafty! I love seeing all the fun things you have been making!
