Lately I've spent Bryn's naptimes making shirts. Well, embellishing pre-made shirts. I bought this shirt for $9 at H&M, then found similar colored satin at JoAnns for $1. Then cut the satin in strips and sewed flower/circles on. Then I put fray-check on the raw edges, so it wouldn't completely fray (more than it already had).
I found this shirt at Old Navy on clearance for $5. I made the long sleeves into short sleeves, then used the sleeve material to make the ruffle around the neckline. The edges are raw, since the knit won't fray.
I want to experiment and make more of these babies, because (A) They're cheaper than buying already-embellished shirts, and (B) I need more opportunities to strike a pose and do my serious face.

Cute Cute! I especially love the ruffle around the neckline!
Laura...wow. SO CUTE!! You are for sure the most creative person on earth! Both of them are so gorgeous. I've decided that while you are here in June I am going to pay you to teach me all of your crafty skills :)
way cute! :)
They turned out so good! I love refashioning. It makes me happy!
Great serious face!
Making embellished t-shirts is one of my favorite things...seriously. And these are both so cute -- might be stealing the idea for future projects!
SUPER CUTE!!!
Those are SO cute!! I wish I had your talent :) How do you attach the embellishments? Sewing by hand? Sewing by machine?
So solemn, Lar.
LOVE THEM BOTH! You are so talented! Can you come to my house for a day and teach me a few things about sewing! You always post the most amazing things!
You are too cool! I have tried some of my own sewing projects and they have been...ok. I have now formally asked for a sewing machine so I too can be a busy little beaver making my own little projects. My next move is a hobo bag. Judging by the name, I hope I can pull it off.
wow Laura super cute and really impressive.
You really are amazing!
Ummm...teach us!!! So cute!
