Bryn's First Soccer Season

I can't help but smile when I think of Bryn playing soccer. She just finished her first soccer season and it was the cutest thing ever. Josh was her coach and it was also so fun to watch him interact with ten wiggly preschoolers. Josh had a fun time coaching and Bryn absolutely loved soccer practice each week. I just sat on the sidelines with Mya and loved the feeling of being an official "soccer mom" :)
This is Bryn's first-soccer-practice pose. Woah.
 "The Blue Blueberries"
I don't know why these little soccer drills were so funny to me. I couldn't help but laugh as I saw Josh demonstrate soccer skills and the kids try to imitate them. So cute.

Two of Bryn's cute pals, Emma and Audrey
Bryn looks like she's not wearing shorts. Ha!
So excited she can't hardly stand it.
Josh presenting Bryn with her end-of-season award. Of course, Bryn was beaming and proud as could be.
High-fives all around!

Woot Woot

I know this blog is usually about motherhood, cooking, sewing, and other domestic endeavors, but I just have to say
I'm proud of my YANKS tonight!
(2-0) against the team all my Cali friends are rooting for. Well, at least the team that their husbands are rooting for. I don't really talk about baseball at Mother's Group activities.

Labor Day Fitness Challenge

Some of my family in Utah competed in a Triathalon on Labor Day, and since Josh and I couldn't be a part of it, we did the next best thing: "WORLD TRAIL FITNESS CHALLENGE" CENTRAL PARK HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA I had seen this at the park a few months ago, and have been begging Josh to try it with me. Some of the "events" were completely impossible. (The straight-leg double vault. Not happening!) But it was such a blast doing what we could! Ha ha. Here are a few of the events that we attempted....
Hang on to the bar and hold your legs out in front of you for as long as you can. Walk your hands along the bars with your legs curled up behind you. Hold your legs up horizontally as you walk your hands across the bars. I only made it about ten inches.
The hardest option, hold your legs behind you horizontally as you walk your hands across the bars. Ha ha. Crawl along the bar with your Daddy.
No "fitness challenge" would be complete without push-ups. Unfortunately.
How did I do these when I was a kid!? (Because I weighed half as much as I do now!) I only made it to the third ring, and my hands were killing me!
Rotate your hips from side to side as you pull your chin up to the bar. Impossible.
Josh gets it done.
Don't remember the instructions for this one, but I was struggling.
We had to take a time-out from the fitness challenge when we saw a playground for Bryn!
It was a good morning.

Logan + Soccer = Wow

Josh and I finally made it up to Sandy to see Logan play soccer this season. It was his final game. He did awesome, as expected. Seriously, his team is amazing...especially since these boys are 9 and 10 years old. They were undefeated, beating most teams soundly. If you want more details of their strategy, Logan (or my Dad!) would be more than happy to spend an hour or two going over the keys to success of this awesome little soccer team.

Pack Attack!!

So two years ago everyone in the world was telling Brett Favre that he was washed up and that he needed to retire. Now, here he sits one game from the super bowl against the 18-0 Patriots. Shut em' up Brett! Destroy the G-men today! (I may be changing this post in three hours)

It's on at dawn!!!

This Saturday, November 24, 8-2 BYU play 8-3 Utah at Lavell Edwards Stadium. The kickoff is at noon! If I already didn't love my in-laws enough, they went and scored a pair of tickets for Laura and me. It's going to be amazing!!! Click below for a little recap of last year's game. In case you missed it, all you really need to see is the last play. Becky, please don't show this to Hema... junior or senior. Beck is the man!!
