Boston Trip: Day 2

On Saturday we started the day off by sleeping in! I think we all slept in til 8:30 which doesn't normally happen in our home, so it was a real treat! Then Bryn and Josh headed to the hotel pool with Brian and Audrey.
We did a lot of fun things in Boston, but if you ask Bryn what her favorite part was she'll probably say swimming in the hotel pool. She got to swim Friday night and Saturday morning, but she was literally in tears as we drove out of Boston because she wanted to go back to the hotel and swim.
After breakfast in the city we did a lot of exploring around the Boston Commons area. This is the beautiful Massachusetts State House.
We walked through the Granary Burial Ground and saw the graves of Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Mother Goose (Mary Goose) and victims of the Boston Massacre.
We walked all around the Beacon Hill neighborhood which had such a cool vibe to it.

After walking around for a while, we ended up at the Boston Public Gardens once again. Such a pretty spot.

We walked down Commonwealth Avenue, Newbury Street, and Boylston Street....such a beautiful area.
We picked up a half dozen cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes. We'd never been, so we were excited to finally try it out!
There were some cool tributes to the victims of the Boston Marathon. It was strange to walk along the exact street of the bombings, a place we had seen again and again in news stories.
 Mya walking around Copley Square
Playing on the steps of the beautiful Trinity Church in Copley Square
We hung out for a while in the courtyard of the Boston Public Library and enjoyed our delicious Georgetown Cupcakes, which we liked way more than the Mike Pastry cannoli from the day before. Our favorite flavors were probably Lemon Blossom, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Yum!
The library was such a beautiful building and the courtyard was so neat.

We spent a good part of the day just walking and exploring the city on Saturday, and the girls were troopers to hang out in the stroller for so long.
We left Boston in the afternoon, stopped by Target (since we live over an hour from the nearest one), got dinner in Concord, and then made the beautiful drive back home. Boston is such a beautiful, fun city and we had such a great weekend checking it out!
